This gives the tech a chance to figure out where each one the ends is plugged in to avoid costly mistakes as described above. It is also remarkable that these tracing patch cables do not use the power from the switch, but use the power from the embedded battery to make both ends blink. The advantages of these cords include the elimination of bringing servers down unnecessarily and the reduction of tech time in order to trace patch cords.
